SQL Server 2019/2022: Standard مقابل Enterprise — ما الذي يتعطل بدونه

Enterprise يكلف ~4 أضعاف. الميزات التي تبرره فعلًا — وأين يكفي Standard تمامًا.

SQL Server licensing is per-core (Enterprise/Standard) or per-server+CAL (Standard only). The price gap is significant, so the question is never "which is better" but "which features do you actually use".

When Standard is enough

  • •Databases comfortably under a few hundred GB with normal workloads
  • •No need for online index maintenance during business hours
  • •Single-instance deployments with log shipping or basic AG for DR
  • •Budget matters — Standard per-core is roughly a quarter of Enterprise

When you genuinely need Enterprise

  • •Large databases needing partitioning or online index rebuilds
  • •Full Always On AGs across multiple replicas
  • •More than 128 GB buffer pool or more than 24 cores
  • •Strict RTO/RPO requirements — multi-node failover

The overlooked option

Standard with Server+CAL licensing can undercut per-core pricing for small user counts — for internal tools with a known user base, do the CAL math before defaulting to cores.
