Office 密钥详解:账户绑定 vs MAK vs 在线激活
为什么有些 Office 密钥绑定微软账户、有些在应用内激活 — 以及经销商应该备哪种。
Search Office key listings and you will see three product types that all deliver the same apps but behave completely differently at activation. Knowing the difference prevents almost every "key doesn't work" dispute.
| Account-Bind key | Retail online key | MAK key | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Activation | Redeem at setup.office.com | In-app, online | In-app or phone, online |
| Tied to | One Microsoft account forever | The device (reusable after reinstall) | A shared activation pool |
| Reinstall same PC | Re-login, no key needed | Re-enter key | Consumes a new activation |
| Move to new PC | Via the account | Yes, retail is transferable | No — each activation is permanent |
| Best for | End users who want zero hassle | Users who reinstall/swap hardware | IT depts, resellers, bulk seats |
The account-bind tradeoff
Bind keys are the most convenient — the license lives in the Microsoft account, survives reinstalls, and never needs the key again. The catch: it is permanently locked to the first account that redeems it. Buyers must redeem it on their own account, not a throwaway.
The MAK tradeoff
MAK keys carry a pool of activations (like Windows MAK). Each machine activated consumes one seat permanently — great for provisioning many PCs without accounts, but reinstalls consume the pool. Always check remaining activations before bulk purchase; our PID Checker reads the live count.
Reseller guidance
Sell account-bind keys to end users (fewer disputes, they cannot resell the key onward), retail keys to power users, and MAK to volume buyers — and always display the remaining count for MAK stock.
