Fin de vie de Windows 10 : quelles sont vos options maintenant ?
Les mises à jour de sécurité ont pris fin, l'année ESU grand public aussi — voici l'analyse honnête de vos options restantes.
Windows 10 support ended October 14, 2025 — and as of October 2026 the one-year consumer ESU extension has also expired. Windows 10 now receives no security updates at all. Millions of PCs are affected; here are the realistic paths.
Option 1: Upgrade to Windows 11 (free)
If the hardware qualifies (TPM 2.0, supported CPU), the upgrade is free and your existing Windows 10 license carries over — Win10 and Win11 share the same key family. Unsupported hardware can still install via bypass methods, with the caveats covered in our other guide.
Option 2: Extended Security Updates (ESU)
- •Consumers: the one-year ESU window closed in October 2026 — no longer available
- •Businesses: commercial ESU still runs (up to 3 years total), with per-device pricing that roughly doubles each year
- •ESU = security patches only. No features, no support tickets, no bug fixes
Option 3: Keep running it
The machine keeps working — but every unpatched vulnerability accumulates. For a kiosk, offline machine, or secondary PC the risk is manageable. For a daily driver with banking and email, it is not a real option.
Reseller note
EOL transitions are when key demand spikes — buyers with old machines suddenly need Win11-capable keys. If your customers are still on Win10 keys: they work for Win11, same product family — verify with our PID Checker.
